All roads will lead to International University of East Africa (IUEA) for Mr. and Miss. IUEA.
This is one of the series of events that university has organized to celebrate six years of excellent existence. The event will take place in the university’s auditorium this Friday starting at 6.
Contestants will come from several countries like Uganda, Zambia, Eriteria, Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, Rwanda and many more. The Audience will be impressed by contestants showcasing various outfits like Casual Wear, Office wear, Traditional wear, Creative wear, Swim wear and Dinner wear. The contestants also display their amazing talents from singing, dancing, playing instruments among others from many musicians from IUEA and outside.
The highly anticipated colorful event will be summarized by the crowning of the winners.
Last year, Milton Mwila a student from the Faculty of Engineering, studying Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering as Mr. IUEA 2016/17 and a Ugandan, Miss Alice Barlow Namutebi a student from the Faculty of Business and Management studying Bachelor of Human Resource Management as Miss IUEA 2016/17.
IUEA is accredited by the National Council of Higher Education, Uganda. IUEA first opened its doors to students in August 2011 with the University’s first and only Chancellor is Prof. Emmanuel Mutebile, the Governor of Bank of Uganda.
During the 6 years of existence, IUEA has achieved various milestones which include; being announced as the“Best Upcoming University in Uganda” by National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) during its 2015 Exhibition. It was also nominated as the “Best Sustainable Innovations in Academics” during the East African Responsible Business (EARB) Awards in 2015, because of its unique contribution towards academics in East Africa- for encouraging innovativeness and focusing on providing an excellent education that includes practical skills.
In the six years, IUEA has had an expansion from three(3) Faculties to four (4) i.e. Faculty of Law, Faculty of Business & Management, Faculty of Science & Technology and Faculty of Engineering and it has also diversified to other departments like the Center of Languages and Professional Skills (CLAPS) that tutors students in the various languages; English, Chinese, Kiswahili, French and German and the Peer Tutoring and Quality Center which helps students on a one on one Basis in communication skills as well as counseling and guidance.
